DK25.1 Tversted – Beach on the Doorstep

Welcome to Denmark. Tversted was our first proper stop on the Danish North Sea coast, and what a stop it was. We were right out in nature, surrounded by dunes and grass, with direct access to the beach. Waking up in the morning, sliding open the campervan door and looking straight out at the sea – it doesn’t get much better than that.

The beach was wide, empty and wild. No beach chairs, no ice cream sellers, no barriers. Just sand, wind and waves. We walked barefoot along the water’s edge, collected shells and listened to the sea. Denmark welcomes us with open arms and sand between our toes.

After the dramatic fjords and mountains of Norway, Tversted offered a completely different kind of beauty – flat, wide, endless. But every bit as impressive. There are few things as calming as an empty beach in the morning. Tversted showed us that Denmark can hold its own against its neighbour when it comes to natural beauty.
