NO25.23 Djupvatnet β A Silence You Can Hear
This place left us speechless. And I mean that literally.
We drove up the mountain, the road narrowing, the snow deepening, civilisation falling further away. And then we were there: a lake, framed by snow, not a soul in sight. Absolute silence. Not the βitβs quite quietβ kind of silence, but real, complete silence. No wind, no birds, no aeroplanes, nothing. You can literally only hear yourself breathe.
And as if that werenβt enough: no mobile signal. No vibrating phone, no incoming messages, no quick glance at social media. Simply cut off from the digital world. And it was β extraordinary. Liberating. As though someone had flipped a switch.
We stood there entirely alone, in the snow, by this lake, doing nothing at all. Just standing and listening to the silence. In a world that never stops, this moment was priceless. If I had to choose a single place from this entire journey that resonates with me most deeply β it would be this one. Djupvatnet. Remember the name. Or better still: go there, and forget it.
